The Independent National Electoral Commission ,INEC in Ogun State has announced the devolution and rotation of the Continuous Voter Registration ,CVR exercise to Registration Areas and wards across the state.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Mrs Feyijinmi Saseyi who made this known while addressing stakeholders in Abeokuta noted that the exercise would be carried out across the 20 local government areas of Ogun State.

Mrs Saseyi explained that the decision followed the commencement of the second phase of the CVR on January 5th, 2026 and was designed to address challenges faced by eligible voters in accessing registration centres.

According to Mrs. Saseyi, taking the registration exercise closer to the grassroots would improve accessibility, reduce congestion at existing centres and encourage wider participation in the electoral process.

She urged eligible residents who are yet to register, as well as those seeking transfer or correction of their voter details, to take advantage of the ward-level registration exercise.

Mrs Saseyi reaffirmed INEC’s commitment to transparency, inclusiveness and the conduct of a credible electoral process that guarantees every eligible voter the opportunity to participate in Nigeria’s democratic system.
